CINCO DE MAYO AT THE DRAG RACES
MAY 5 & 6 @ Penwell Knights Raceway

The biggest drag race of the year in West Texas thunders into Penwell Knights Raceway just West of Odessa. The nationally touring Funny Car Chaos Championship Series brings over two dozen ground pounding funny cars for competition with over $35,000 in prize money on Cinco De Mayo weekend, May 5-6th. Friday night under the lights is the place to see these cars in their classic style with long smokey burnouts and fire belching from the pipes! Saturday’s final qualifying and eliminations put the money on the line in 200+ mile per hour combat. This event also features fire breathing jet dragsters both nights, local racers squaring off in bracket style racing, apparel and food vendors, etc. View the Funny Car Entry List HERE. CINCO DE MAYO DOWNTOWN CELEBRATION
MAY 5 • 11am @ Downtown Odessa

The Hispanic Heritage of Odessa invites you to join them at 11am as they embark on a festive journey to visit several participating businesses, each competing for the title of best decorated Cinco de Mayo Downtown business! They will spend about 30 minutes at each location, enjoying some delicious finger foods and beverages provided by the businesses themselves. The winner of the competition will be announced at 6 PM during the Charla Latina Facebook live ceremony, which will take place at Patrick Clay's Tavern. Don't miss out on this fun-filled day of celebration and friendly competition!

Get for a lively and colorful celebration of Cinco de Mayo on the patio at Rooster's Diner! You can find 55cent spicy grapefruit margaritas, $5 Capri-Funs, $5.55 Chips & Elote Dip, $5.55 Chips & Guacamole, & $5.55 Chips & Queso.
