Kyle Nix

KYLE NIX has been making music for most of his life. An Oklahoma native, he got his first fiddle at age 9 and was fronting bands in the late 1990’s before he finished high school. Best known for a wildly ranging fiddle that gave the Turnpike Troubadours their stomping roots sound, Nix released his first solo album “Lightning on the Mountain and Other Short Stories” last June. Envisioned as a concept record with elements inspired by the Spaghetti Western sounds of Ennio Morricone, the album is ambitious and varied with ample love songs, hard-charging country rock songs and plenty in between.
