Workshop by Heidi Pitre

September 17, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm CDT

Celebrated Austin, TX based artist Heidi Pitre returns to the Permian Basin with her exhibit of library card art “A Permanent Record”. This exhibit repurposes vintage author-themed library cards into unique artworks that celebrate the written word.

Pitre’s work will be exhibited at the Ector County Library (ECL) 1st floor from September 6 – November 19.

A special reception will be held for Pitre, as well as new library Director Howard Marks on September 16th at 5:30pm on the first floor.

Pitre will also hold a library card art workshop on Saturday, September 17 at 2pm at the ECL.

The receptions and workshop are both free of charge and open to the public.

This will coincide with September’s Library Card sign up month. If you don’t already have a card, we highly encourage you to apply for one at no charge.

ECL is partnering with Odessa Arts, The Writers’ League of Texas and Friends of the Ector County Library for a special week of literary-themed events during Library Card sign up month.
