If you’re looking to explore the best of Odessa’s creative scene, First Friday is your ticket in. Hosted by Odessa Arts and Downtown Odessa, this free monthly event transforms downtown into a vibrant hub of live music, art, food, and local shopping — all in celebration of West Texas creativity and community.
Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a local regular, each month offers a fresh mix of artists, musicians, vendors, and pop-up experiences. While the lineup changes from month to month, here’s a peek at what you can typically expect:
What To Expect

Odessa’s art scene shines during First Friday. Enjoy gallery openings, exhibits, hands-on art classes, and artist pop-ups featuring everything from original paintings to handmade goods. - 🎶 Live Music
From acoustic street sets to full band performances, you’ll hear local talent performing at various locations. - 🍔 Food & Drinks
Local restaurants often offer First Friday specials, and pop-up vendors may be serving up sweet or savory bites. - 🎬 Movies & Entertainment
Catch a classic film at The Ector Theatre, one of downtown’s premier entertainment venues. - 🛍️ Pop-Up Vendors & Boutiques

- ⏰ Time: 6 PM – 9 PM
- 📍 Location: Downtown Odessa and surrounding areas
- 🎟️ Admission: FREE for all ages!
Plan Your Visit
- 🚗 Parking: Free public parking is available throughout downtown Odessa. Look for open lots on Texas Avenue and Lee Street, or check nearby cross streets for street parking.
- 💵 Payments: Many vendors accept credit/debit cards, but some are cash-only. We recommend bringing both just in case.
- 🐶 Pet-Friendly? Yes! Well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome at most outdoor areas of First Friday. Be sure to clean up after your furry friend.
What To Take
- 💳 Cash & Cards – Most vendors accept cards, but some may be cash-only.
- 👜 Tote Bag – Handy for carrying your new goodies from local shops and artists.
- 👟 Comfortable Walking Shoes – Downtown is walkable, but there’s plenty to explore!
- 💧 Water Bottle – Especially important during those warm West Texas evenings.
